New Vic Education Partners can book a variety of classroom workshops taught by New Victory Education Staff and Teaching Artists. Teachers gain valuable, firsthand experience working with the arts in their classroom while collaborating with trained teaching artists.
All New Vic in the Classroom scheduling will begin on September 8, 2009. Ticket orders must be confirmed prior to workshop booking. All New Vic in the Classroom workshop programs are subject to availability. A travel expense fee may apply to schools outside the five boroughs.

Sessions are designed to enrich the students' experiences as audience members and enable participants to make artistic and curriculum connections to New Vic productions.
Available for all productions except The Green Sheep .

(Limited Availability)
All residencies will be led by a team of Teaching Artists working with the classroom teacher and require the teacher’s commitment to collaborative planning time.
Spotlight Residency (Middle School Only)
A series of five workshops designed to explore one New Vic performance in-depth. These sessions will enrich your students’ experiences of the performance while further developing their understanding of live performance and the role it can play in the world. While rooted in performance, production themes will also serve as a springboard to cross-curricular study. Available for Henry V, Cranked,Hunchback and Jason and the Argonauts.
Creating Connections Residency (All Grades)
A series of workshops inspired by New Vic performances and designed to explore theater-making while also advancing performing arts literacy, critical reflection and communication skills. Sessions will include exploration of broader, show-based themes and cultural connections.
Available to specific classes ticketed to three or more performances per season. Available for all productions except The Green Sheep and Knucklehead Zoo in Rewind.
Performing Arts Laboratories (Grades 3-12)
An exclusively tailored developmental series of workshops, designed by Education Staff and Partner Educators to meet individual needs of their students, curriculum and school, while building connections between New Vic performances.
Participation in the Spotlight and/or Creating Connections Residencies is a prerequisite for the Performing Arts Laboratories.

-The maximum number of students we can work within a single workshop is 35.
-Workshops are approximately 45 to 60 minutes per session.
-We will bring our own materials, however, we do require the use of the board/chalk or char paper/markers and sometimes a CD player.
-A classroom with moveable desks, a gymnasium, or an auditorium that will allow the students to move safely in the space and accommodate full participation.
